March 8th 2008 - Mamajuana Energy sponsored the University of Houston Cougar Cookers last weekend in the Houston World Championship Barbecue Cookoff. The Cougar Cookers tent was filled with U of H boosters past and present. Layfield Energy Chairman John Layfield was in attendance on Thursday night and enjoyed some great barbecue and even an adult beverage or two. Houstonian Bruce "Brother Love" Prichard found his way to the festivities along with the new head football coach of the Cougars, Kevin Sumlin. Coach Sumlin had his first opportunity to say hello to the boosters and introduce members of his coaching staff.
Mamajuana Energy was well represented with samples available at the bar and those who sampled on Thursday night couldn't wait to get back and grab some more samples! The men were lining up to hear all about the magical properties of this elixir. While they lined up, many of the women snuck in to grab their fair share of samples. And yes, just as many women folk were sampling as were the men! Many deals were done and in addition to the announcement that John Layfield alluded to last week, a few more key strategic partnerships were begun over some brisket and cold beer. Mamajuana Energy looks forward to sponsoring the Cougar Cookers again next year, and maybe if the cookers add a special ingredient found in a two ounce bottle to their recipe next year, we could see them winning the entire competion! |
